March nor’easter: current REPC status
BARNSTABLE – The Barnstable County Regional Emergency Planning Committee (BCREPC) held a conference call at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, to discuss the potential winter storm.
Current forecasts indicate that the storm will arrive Tuesday evening and hit peak intensity overnight. It is a fairly fast moving system and is expected to pull away from the area by late Wednesday morning.
The BCREPC is closely monitoring the storm and has taken the following actions:
The Regional Shelter System volunteer personnel have been put on standby.
The Barnstable County Multi-Agency Coordination Center (MACC) operated by the Barnstable County Incident Management Team is on standby.
A conference call will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday to assess the latest storm forecasts.
