Welcoming New RSAC Co-Chair Vaira Harik
Vaira holds a bachelor’s Degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master’s Degree in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health. Directly out of her master’s program she became a data analyst at the Boston University School of Public Health and then quickly moved to that school’s Center for International Health, becoming a Senior Research Analyst. In that position she worked on numerous international health consulting projects in Egypt, Gambia, Barbados, and Jamaica.
Vaira spent five years as the Public Health Director for Cochise County, Arizona, a large county which shares its southern border with Mexico. In 2013 she returned home to Cape Cod becoming the Senior Project Manager at Barnstable County’s Department of Human Services.
Vaira is a dual citizen of the United States and of Lebanon. She grew up in Lebanon during its Civil War (1975-1990) and volunteered as a first responder/civil defense worker as a teenager. She is an avid photographer and enjoys reading, all things historical, politics, Cape Cod vistas, ospreys, manual transmissions, and fastballs high and inside.
