BARNSTABLE (Sept. 25, 2018)—Barnstable County announced that the Barnstable County Cape Cod Cooperative Extension released its first digital video series, “Tickology,” premiering today on YouTube.
Join Larry Dapsis, Entomologist and Tick Project Coordinator as he educates the public on the topic of tick disease education and prevention through 10 exciting, close-captioned videos that he scripted and developed. Each video ranges from 6 minutes to 14 minutes in length.
Larry Dapsis says, “In each episode, you will learn something new about ticks, tick-borne illnesses, and prevention. I’ve looked at a number of tick education videos that are out there. This is the only comprehensive education package available anywhere.”
The video series was funded by a Cape Cod Healthcare Annual Strategic Grant in the amount of $25,000. According to a representative at Cape Cod Healthcare, “Cape Cod Healthcare provided grant funding to further expand the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension’s regional tick bite prevention education activities. This grant was approved to ensure that Barnstable County residents have easy access to this important prevention information at libraries, senior centers, schools, and even their own homes.”
