November 20, 2019 – Eddy Elementary Hosts WET Festival

Brewster, MA– The Cape Cod Cooperative Extension and AmeriCorps Cape Cod hosted a water festival on Friday, November 15th at Eddy Elementary.

The festival, called WET Fest, taught 80 fifth grade students and 80 fourth grade students about protecting Cape Cod’s source of drinking water. AmeriCorps Cape Cod members facilitated many hands-on activities including “D.O. the Limbo” in which students learn about factors that influence dissolved oxygen and “Flush the Kids” where students crawled through a large septic tank model. This was the second of approximately ten schools that will host WET Festivals throughout Cape Cod during the 2019-20 school year.
