On December 14, 2022, the Barnstable County Human Rights Advisory Commission held its Annual International Human Rights Day Awards Celebration virtually.
The theme of the celebration was Healthcare is a Human Right: Promoting Quality Healthcare for All and included a roundtable discussion on healthcare and health equity on Cape Cod.
The BCHRAC presented two human rights awards at the celebration: Matthew Levesque received the Rosenthal Community Champion Award and Barbara Burgo received the Cornerstone Award. Former Human Rights Coordinator, the late Susan Quinones, was honored and her family received the Tim McCarthy Award on her behalf.
