Celebrating the Rich History of Barnstable County, Bristol County, and Plymouth County on our 338th Anniversary

Today marks a very special day for three counties in Massachusetts – Barnstable County, Bristol County, and Plymouth County – as we celebrate our 338th anniversary. In 1685, Plymouth Colony was partitioned into the three counties.

To learn more about Barnstable County’s fascinating history, watch a presentation given to the County Commissioners on May 24. On May 24, the Commissioners also voted to designate June 2 at Barnstable County Day!
