Exploring Resilient Clam Strains: A Collaborative Project with Quahogs
Published on: October 12, 2023
Extension’s Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Sea Grant Marine team has been spending these sunny days with quahogs! These labeled quahogs are part of a project with Stony Brook University that focuses on evaluating whether strains of hard clams (in this case, quahogs) can be identified that better tolerate disease. This project is important for improving the local aquaculture industry by finding and establishing more resilient lines of clams. To learn more about the project check out this video summary found here https://loom.ly/HPQ3aOE. You can also read more about the project here https://loom.ly/9Sb-2yk.
