It’s National Groundwater Awareness Week!

March 10th through 16th is National Groundwater Awareness Week (GWAW)! The National Groundwater Association (NGWA) encourages annual inspections of private water systems by certified water well contractors to ensure systems are operating correctly and producing safe and healthy water.

Need to get your well water tested? Barnstable County Water Quality Laboratory, conveniently located on the Mid-Cape at the Barnstable County Complex in Barnstable Village, offers routine well water testing. Check out our website to learn more: Routine Residential Water Testing – Barnstable County (capecod.gov)! You can also visit www.wellowner.org for well owner resources or to find a local contractor.

Remember, if you need maintenance on your well, the first step is testing. In fact, testing is recommended anytime there is a change in taste, odor or appearance, anytime the system is purchased, or if it’s been more than one year since the water was last tested.

Test, Tend Treat!
