Barnstable County Leaders Receive Special Congressional Recognition to Honor Public Service
On Friday, June 7th, Barnstable County Administrator Beth Albert and Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment Director Sean O’Brien were awarded Certificates of Special Congressional Recognition by Senator Edward Markey and Congressman Bill Keating. Mr. O’Brien and Ms. Albert are both retiring after several years of public service to Barnstable County.
Ms. Albert served for 14 years as Director of the Barnstable County Department of Human Services before accepting the role of County Administrator in April of 2021. Over the past three and a half years she has made significant contributions to the improvement of Barnstable County Government’s operations and its ability provide essential regional services to Cape Cod’s 15 towns.
Sean O’Brien served Barnstable County for nearly four decades, spearheading several longstanding programs critical to environmental protection, emergency response and public health on Cape Cod. He served at the forefront of COVID-19 response efforts, working closely with state and local entities to ensure the safety and wellness of our residents.
