AmeriCorps Cape Cod Honors Year 25 Graduates

Join Us in Honoring 11 Months of Dedication and Impact on Cape Cod

July 16, 2024 (Barnstable, MA) – On July 25th, the AmeriCorps Cape Cod program will celebrate 18 graduating members who have each completed 11 months and 1,700 hours of public service. These dedicated individuals have worked on crucial projects that protect the Cape’s natural resources, prepare for disasters, educate the community, and engage volunteers. 

The public is invited to join the graduation ceremony to honor these dedicated individuals and their significant contributions to the Cape Cod community. The event will be held on Thursday, July 25th at 10 AM at the Cape Cod Community College Tilden Arts Center, 2240 Iyannough Rd, West Barnstable. The ceremony will feature speeches from local community partners, awards for AmeriCorps members and Lifetime Service Partners, and more. Light refreshments will be provided. 

“Our Year 25 members stepped up to serve Cape Cod despite challenging conditions. Their dedication has strengthened our community. We look forward to celebrating their remarkable efforts at the graduation ceremony,” says Program Manager Kat Garofoli. 

Since 1999, AmeriCorps Cape Cod, supported by Barnstable County, Cape Cod’s Regional Government, and the AmeriCorps federal agency, has made a positive impact on the region. Members have collectively served over 1,020,000 hours, saving the region an estimated $27,519,571. In Year 25 alone, members served over 30,600 hours and saved the region an estimated $1,253,682. 

Join us in celebrating these dedicated individuals and their remarkable achievements on July 25th. Their hard work and commitment to serving Cape Cod have made our community stronger and more resilient. 

ABOUT AMERICORPS CAPE COD: Barnstable County’s AmeriCorps Cape Cod is a national service program that recruits 24 members to serve on Cape Cod each year. The program focuses on meeting Cape Cod’s critical and pressing environmental and disaster response needs through a dedication to community service and local collaboration.
