Building Community Through Understanding: BCHRAC’s Recent Event on Hate Crimes
Last week, the Barnstable County Human Rights Advisory Commission (BCHRAC) took another step toward fostering community awareness and resilience by co-hosting the Understanding Hate Crimes and Building a Better Community event. BCHRAC Coordinator Leslie Domínguez-Santos collaborated with Racial Justice Falmouth, Lt. Hergt, and Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert J. Galibois to bring together individuals and organizations dedicated to addressing hate crimes and promoting inclusivity on Cape Cod.
The event attracted a diverse group of attendees, all of whom share a commitment to supporting a safer, more inclusive community. Through powerful presentations and heartfelt stories, participants engaged in meaningful discussions on the impact of hate crimes and the importance of proactive community engagement.
BCHRAC thanks everyone who presented, shared their stories, and attended. Events like these reinforce the power of community action and remind us that, together, we can build a place where everyone feels safe and valued.
