SALES & MORTGAGE VOLUME RISE TO START THE YEAR!
Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in January 2025 was up 24.2% from January 2024 volume and the total value of sales rose 52.3% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value rose 13.5% from the previous year. There was a 15% increase in the volume of mortgage activity from January 2024 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is up 24.2%; Total Value of Sales is up 52.3%; Individual Sales Value is up 13.5%; Mortgage Volume is up 15%.
Register Meade reports that there were 385 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in January 2025 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $408,086,361.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in January 2025 was $669,900.00.
There were 590 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in January 2025 with a total value of $370,350,311.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential, or other, was $396,050.00.
By way of comparison, there were 310 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in January 2024 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $267,943,462.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in January 2024 was $590,000.00.
There were 513 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in January 2024 with a total value of $388,585,053.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential, or other, was $305,428.00.
