Communications staff supports the Barnstable County Board of Regional Commissioners, Barnstable County Administration, and various offices and departments by coordinating effective communications outreach to residents.

We provide transparency of government functions and actions to our residents by crafting key messages through digital media channels like our website, press releases, and social media, including details on public meetings, department function explanations; emergency and public safety messages; and meetings of government boards and committees. 

Our office strives to communicate, in a unified and consistent manner, the vision of the Barnstable County Board of Regional Commissioners and the activities of County Government to Barnstable County residents and employees to foster an informed and engaged citizenry.  From working on the front lines of communications during severe weather events to crafting informative messages about County services, we maintain, monitor, and update county social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
